Its been a whole year since I was last at the Historic Sotterly Plantation for a wedding here in Southern Maryland but man was it nice to be back.  This little slice of heaven is the perfect little rustic spot full of charm and character.  My meeting with Jess + Jon was by chance.  I was originally already booked for their date and they had already booked another photographer. We both ended up breaking up on those obligations and fell into each others laps and I think it was fate playing a hand in there somehwere.   This never happens, but the wedding day was the FIRST time I ever met Jon and he was a hoot! A secret undercover dancer who introduced me to what they like to call the “bernie” haha.  I met with Jessica the day before over lunch and she was the sweetest!  Even when so much stress was being thrown her way she kept it together and we were able to joke and catch up.

I arrived a little early to the cottage to wander around the grounds and because I was anxious to meet the rest of the bridal party and get the festivities started.  The gals showed up lookin’ their best and I loved their navy blue dresses!  A perfect way to tie in Jon’s Air Force uniform blues.  These two had a stunning backdrop of the river and fields of Sotterly, mixed with peony bushes in full bloom along the garden walls. They couldn’t have gotten a better day with a light breeze coming off the water and little puffs of clouds in the sky.   The touches of yellow against the navy blues were a classic touch for the big day that helped tie in Jons Navy blue Air Force Dress suit.   The bridal party was HILARIOUS and so easy going and OH MY GOODNESS, the Ring bearer and flower girl!  Apparently, it was the first time they ever met and they were the CUTEST! Im talking holding hands, smiling at you every time you looked at them and from what I heard, Bay already said Raelyn was his girlfriend haha!  It was an all around perfect day and Im so excited to take a peek back at all the pretty!
