I promise I haven’t forgotten about the glorious city known as London. Its more along the lines of I’ve just been super busy now that wedding season is under way and my need for travel has not slowed down one bit. A few fun tid bits about what I thought of London, it reminds me a lot like D.C. The amount of people/tourists, the architecture. It has so many characteristics of D.C. which I was not expecting. Its also REALLY EXPENSIVE. When you spend a few days in Prague and then head to London, its a serious change in the cost of living! London is one of the most expensive cities in the world and I spent more money in London then I did in Amsterdam and Prague combined!
Unfortunately, London was my last main stop and that meant that I was TIRED by the time I arrived. The cobblestone streets of Prague really did a number on my feet and with two engagement sessions in London, I needed the rest. So my first day was spent on one of the Hop-on Hop-off bus tours and I went around London 3 times ha! I thought it was a clever way of seeing the city and letting my little feetsies rest! Funny part, I never actually hopped off until I was done haha. Thankfully. I was able to scope out the main lay of the land and figure out where I wanted my first engagement session to be held! So kudos to you, Original Tour for giving me the lay of the land!
I love the British accent! I wish the accent never died out in America. I could sit there and listen to any English folk talk all day. My first real day I was able to get together with a new friend that I made while I was in Greece, Kavii. We met on an excursion in Santorini and I mentioned that I would be in London in April and we knew we were going to have to get together! We went out to dinner, had a drink and she even came with on my engagement shoot and took some killer BTS shots of me! I feel bad because by the end of the engagement session my feet were DONE! I mean, I thought I was about to keel over and just not walk anymore. So we high tailed it to a fun little night club for a drink and who would have thought, they were having an American Frat Party so it was a very Americanized day for me. Ha, who would have thought?
If you know me, you know I am not a big city person. A lot of people wonder why I only give cities such little time and honestly, thats the reason why. Im not a big city gal so 2 days in a city is more than enough for me. I cannot wait to get my butt back to the UK though! The English country side and history is CALLING MY NAME!
