First off,  Prague is my new favorite city!  It has far surpassed my expectations!  Edinburgh was a hard number 1 for the past year with its beautiful architecture and dark history…. that was, until I stepped foot out of the Prague airport.   I knew the architecture was going to be beautiful, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that charming!  Everyone I met was so helpful and sweet.  I am actually a bit mad that I didn’t give myself more time in this incredible city.

I had myself 3 shoots while I was in town, yes, you read that correct, THREE!  But you will see and hear more on those this week!  I am very laid back when it comes to traveling.  Lots of walking and alley finding.  There are so many nooks and crannies in this incredible city.  And color!  SO MUCH COLOR! Pastels are off the chain in this city!   Not to mention, I was staying in the perfect location.  I had two nights at the incredible Mosaic House in Old Town.  Just mere steps away from the river and the National Theater house (which is incredible all on its own).  I spent my first afternoon in town walking the streets, taking in the smells and sounds.  I even had hot wine or as the locals called it, Svarak!  First of all, ya girl does not even like wine.  It takes a bit to make me drink an entire glass.  The lady hosting the bar was the sweetest gal who talked me into it.  It was actually delicious!  It was a red wine infused with cinnamon and a splash of orange. Anyhoo, my main goal was the find the best view of the city and after asking around to a few travel groups, everyone insisted the best views were from the walls of the Castle!  So I made my way up to the castle, which is either entirely up hill or up 3942390489234 steps.  I hear that you can take the tram to the top of the hill and walk down to the castle grounds but I didn’t hear about that until it was too late for my calves. This entire town is cobble stone so I highly suggest good walk shoes if you ever find yourself there.  Do not make my mistake.

Also, prepare yourself for big crowds at every major spot within the city.  Prague is not a hidden gem.  Instead, do as I do and wake up before the sun so that you can have the hot spots to yourself.  I never even took photos on the Charles bridge because the mass amount of people made me uncomfortable.  Thankfully its equally as beautiful from afar.  If you are an early bird when you travel like I am,  the castle opens its gates at 6:00am and while none of the cafes are markets are open, you have the entire castle to yourself.  It was heaven!  I cannot wait to get my booty back in this beautiful city!  I’m thinking a fall in Prague would be magical!
