Ohhh I am SO ready to flash it back to my time in Costa Rica two weeks ago. It was a whirl wind of a week spent there. I spent my first 4 days in the bustling town of Tamarindo on the Guanacaste coast. I was prepped and SO ready to hang out with Alexus and her soon to be hubby, Francisco. They picked me up from my hostel in town and then whisked me away to paradise. Alexus loved the trees and the lushness this area provides during the rainy season so we made sure to incorporate one of their favorite roads into their portraits. We couldnt venture too far down the road because a lot of roads this time of year on the Guanacaste are not passable without a 4×4 and we didnt want to risk it. Thankfully these trees were giving us all of the green life we wanted!
On our way to the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica (in my opinion) we stopped because we saw a whole family of howler monkeys! These little guys are ADORABLE but sound terrifying. Their howl is loud and deep making it seem like they are much bigger than what they actually are. We were howling back at them with other passerby’s. It was awesome to see them in the wild like that. After my encounter with the wild, we arrived. This beach isn’t known to many outsiders, hence why you will get no name drop for this beach from me … some things deserved to be kept private. This beach had cliffs on both sides with caves and the waves crashing around. From what Alexus + Francisco told me, this beach is known for sea turtles and bio luminescent plankton! We didn’t get to see any sea turtles as I was about a week shy of sea turtle season BUT I did get to see the left overs of a hatched sea turtle nest and that made me EVEN MORE HAPPY.
Oly was SO happy when we got here. This dog was in his own little piece of heaven. He clearly loves the beach! He was running around going swimming and just living his best life. It was raining off and on during our shoot but that did not hold us back. We were even graced with a stunning rainbow and the most INSANE sunset! Francisco made us a fire while Alexus prepped some fruit for us to have a little snack on the beach. I couldn’t get over just how perfect it all really was. Sending another big ole thank you to my faves folks in Costa Rica! If you ever find yourself in Tamarindo, find Alexus, learn some yoga or get a message and be treated like a queen!
