Is it May yet? Because ya girl is ready to party hardy with Drew + Lizzie in South Carolina for their wedding celebration. I’ve known Lizzie most of my life now and have been lucky enough to photograph her a time or two. I even saw her and Drew earlier this year in Savannah for a fun Forsyth Park couples session. This time, things were a bit more serious because now they are ENGAGED! We turned up the heat a little bit and had all hands on deck. We were originally going to shoot at their beautiful venue in Summerville but Lizzie decided she wanted a classic Downtown Charleston engagement so we made magic happen! I was only going to be in Charleston for two days so we didn’t have too big of a window but thankfully we were able to align our time in town and opted for a fun little sunrise session. I’m slowly starting to fall head over heels with sunrise sessions. Having places all to your self is a total win, plus, that morning light is GOR-GEOUS! We started things down along the Cooper river. It was funny, Lizzie joked about gators and Im actually sad we never saw one. In fact, every single time I have ever been to SC, I’ve never seen one. Anyhoo, we hugged and snuggled our way from the River over to the infamous Rainbow row. These beautiful pastel colored row homes are an iconic symbol of downtown Charleston. This place is usually flooded with other tourists so having it to ourselves in the morning was perfection! The French quarter is my favorite part of Charleston so its no wonder why everyone else loves it too. After we snuggled up to all the pastels it was time to change ship and make our way over to the Battery. This is a stunning street along the river known of the Battery Carriage house. Think STUNNING historic homes that neither you nor I could ever afford in our life times. Plus, White point garden lines the other side of this street and its a beautiful park with stunning oak trees. Strange fact, there is spanish moss EVERYwhere in the Charleston area but there is none in ACTUAL downtown Charleston. I mean. I don’t get it. You drive two blocks outside of Downtown Charleston and its everywhere. Its weird. But anyhoo, before I get way too off track. I love Lizzie and Drew. These two are so dang adorable together and I love how happy they are together. Its not just on camera you guys. Majority of these images are just them loving on each other and I was just clicking away at the right time. Most of the time when I am giving my clients things to do, its not the actual thing Im telling them to do that I want to photograph, its their movement into that position and their movement after that position that I want. And these two would get extra goofy and giggly after everything they did and it was the cutest! I have A WHOLE heap of favorites of Drew + Lizzie. You know, true Candace fashion – not able to narrow down a reasonable number of favorites. But its ok because your eyeballs are going to enjoy this southern session.
