Ahh, we pick up from our time at Antelope canyon. Horseshoe bend is conveniently only like 9 miles from antelope canyon, so we opted to hang there for sunset. It was such a beautiful evening too but man, Andie and I couldn’t get some stars to save our lives. We waited and waited but the clouds were getting thicker and thicker. It was like every night…. no stars! Doomed I tell ya! Anyhoo, Horseshoe is a gorgeous horseshoe shaped (hence the name) bend in the Colorado river within Glen Canyon Rec. area. Its a short 20 minute walk to the overlook its self. We were there for more than an hour. It was beyond worth it.
Tony loves getting close to the edge….
It was SO BEAUTIFUL! I’ve seen numerous photos but nothing will justify its beauty like seeing it in person. The scale and depth of this bad boy. Its not the grand canyon but its pretty dang up there for me!
Of course we took photos! We didn’t get to take nearly as many at Antelope canyon so we had to make up for it here! haha
I left the little humans in the image on the far right. I thought it helped give some sort of scale to this beaut of a view.
Seriously! Gimme desert light all day every day!
I tempted my self here and there. I’m still all kinds of terrified though.
crazy dude with his feet off the edge. Crazy.
Its like….lion king.
Sunset was giving us these pretty little pink hues in the cloud. Which was beautiful especially since we weren’t going to get the stars we were hoping for.
And if you have made it this far, thank you for taking time out to see a bit of the world with me. Ever since I started traveling more freely I started making videos of my travels. Nothing too special or over the top. Just little clips throughout the trip I smash together when I get home and throw a good tune over top of it. For a different take on our trip, here is my Western Adventures video jammer. I miss the desert.
