Im crying.  Not literally but on the inside just knowing this is my last post about Thailand.  *insert ugly crying emoji here*.  I am counting the days until I make my return to SE Asia and to the generous people of Thailand that I’ve met.

This last part is about our day excursion to Koh Phi Phi and the infamously CROWDED Maya bay- from the movie The Beach….which starred Taylors A-1 since day-1, Leonardo DiCaprio. haha. Funny thing is,  I watched The Beach about a week after we landed back state side and the movie is so damn true it hurts.  If you aren’t familiar with that movie, its about this island with the most perfect beach that is hidden in this enclosed cove.  The island is only inhabited by some illegal marijuana farmers and a village of about 15 people.  This village thrives off the secrecy of the island, knowing that if the island was found and known that it would be turned into rubbish from tourism.  Its pretty damn factual.  You could hardly walk on this beach there were so many people.  All of the day trips dropping 40-50+ people off for their 45 minutes on the beach.   Next time,  I am spending the extra dough to stay on a boat in the cove so that you have the entire beach to your self at sunset and sunrise. Seems the best bet to me.

Anyways, we stopped at Maya Bay,  the “vikings” cave and Monkey beach before embarking on our snorkeling adventure.  Taylor had never been snorkeling before and her snorkel kept filling up with water.  We are both very dysfunctional to be honest.  It was one hell of a time though. I love snorkeling and getting to see a whole new world under the water.  So many beautiful fish, corral, urchins and we totally found DORY!  Shes much prettier in the wild.  It was the perfect way to finish off our trip to Phuket.  We were both burnt to a crisp and had extra salty hair but I’ll remember the feeling being on the boat, in the front, with the wind rapidly blowing all around us and just feeling extra thankful for this life.  We were in freaking THAILAND.  The other side of the planet, on a boat.  Life really couldn’t be any better.

We made our way back to Bangkok for one more full day of exploration.  We missed our opportunity to go to the Grand Palace but we hopped back on the river ferry and headed to China town and the Floral markets.  Explored a little bit, it was really chaotic in Chinatown.  Could hardly walk, but we had some delicious food at this small little restaurant.  Taylor tried about 5 different dishes while I stuck with my nummy chicken and cashew nuts.  That night we even went out on the town to the infamous Khao San Road…. or backpacker road.  Its just as cliche as you think it is.  We sat at a bar that was playing decent music and played Heads Up.  It was hilarious and I even ate a SCORPION!  I’m still not sure how or why I did that but I guess when you get enough Chang’s in your system, you’ll likely eat anything they throw your way.

I love you Thailand.  Forever and ever and I am counting the days until I return!
