This was one of the best investments I have made in a long time. I have attended a conference a time or two but I had never attended a workshop. I have been eyeing a few workshops by some of my favorite photographers and I was a stalker of Benjs first Cascade Workshop. It just so happen to be that he released the information for round two and I actually had the dates available! I was so nervous. It was a huge investment and I would be putting myself out there and be bunked with 20 other strangers from around the globe. I said screw it and hopped on board asap! We all know I love hostels so being bunked with people from around the world is my jam.
A few weeks before we were to all leave and make our way towards Seattle, I mentioned that I would offer a ride to anyone who needed one from Seattle to Leavenworth. Sarah, Marian + Sigrid all opted for a little adventure on our way out to Leavenworth and I am so glad they did! I scooped the girls up from around the city and we ventured down Stevens Pass to see a bit of the Washington Cascades. The weather was a bit crazy, being winter and all. It would rain, sleet snow then be sunny within a matter of minutes.
We stopped at a bridge I really wanted to see, the old pipeline bed trailhead. Google photo sphere find of the day! It was awesome and I had such a killer time getting to know these girls and shoot together. We finally made it to Leavenworth, which is the cutest town in America…by the way! Its a Bavarian town and they go ALL out for Christmas. I mean Christmas is pretty much all year round here. I highly recommend just for the beauty alone!
We made it to the lodge just in time for check-in at the lodge. We grabbed our beds, had a killer dinner and then spent the night playing Mastin Labs version of Cards against humanity and some brews! Best first night ever!
