The last month has really gotten the best of me you guys.  Im trying to find that perfect balance between work  and life and it has me a bit behind with things.  I am JUST now getting the chance to share part II of my Washington Explorations from 3 weeks ago!  I’ve just been non-stop ever since and sharing my clients story is more important to me than sharing my personal travels. Its funny because I am currently writing this as I sit in my bed at my airbnb here in Golden, Canada.  I hit the road today and even though I’m sad, I thought I’d take a moment to dive back into my favorite place in the entire world, the Pacific Northwest.  If you don’t remember part I, you can see that HERE … After leaving the stunning area of Anacortes I was continuing my road trip towards the coast.  The Pacific coast is probably the prettiest coast line I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen my fair share of shorelines.

I had a hot date with Cape Flattery and I was SO excited!  I made a few pit stops along the way and unfortunately, I don’t really remember where these places were.  This is something Im working on trying to fix.  I really need to start writing things down. Anyhoo, Cape Flattery is the most northwestern point of the us, not including Alaska of course. Its lush greenery splashed next to the blues of the Pacific.  It was WELL worth all of the sweat from the hike back up.

After spending a few hours exploring the Cape, I made my way to my home for the night – the glorious Rialto beach.  I had camped out here two years ago with my friend Stephanie and this time I went back alone.  Unfortunately, it was raining this time around and I ended up having to camp in my car instead but it was still perfect.  I fell asleep watching twilight and all was right in the world.  After waking super early, I ventured a little further down the coast to the STUNNING Ruby beach.  I never had the chance to check this piece of the coast out the last time I was in town so I made sure that I stopped there during this road trip.

After spending a few short hours along the coast, I made the 3 hour drive from the coast towards Snoqualmie Pass to see Rattlesnake lake again.  If its something I loved at first, I am not ashamed to see it again.  And it was PERFECT.  I never found the part of the lake that had all of the old tree stumps until this time around and Im so glad I did.  I hung my hammock up and lounged beneath Rattlesnake ledge for a few hours, cooling off in the lake every now and then.  The Washington sun is no joke! The air is cool but the sun is HOT HOT HOT you guys!  My goal was to hit up and swim in 3 lakes and to take a dip in each of them but the weather out west is unpredictable.  I went from warm weather to extreme heat and super winds when I arrived at Wenatchee Lake.  It was STUNNING but there was NO way I was swimming with the crazy waves and wind.  After a quick little pit stop, I made my way to Lake Chelan.  I’ve heard that this is the place to go if you want a stunning lake experience and it did not disappoint.  I didnt get the chance to swim but I did fully enjoy the sunset and the sunrise of this beautiful location.  I ended up camping out in the car again but when you are traveling on a budget and you have been driving for 12+ hours, you’ll sleep anywhere.

One of my favorite stops along my road trip was at Diablo lake.  This stunning turquoise lake is located in the North Cascades National park and even though the water was FRIGID, I took a quick dip to cool off because it was crazy hot.  I had never seen water this color before.  If it weren’t for the insanely high winds, I could have camped out with my hammock at the overlook for the rest of the day.  It was jaw dropping.  On my last day in Washington, I spent my time with a couple taking some extra fun adventurous couples photos around Washington.  If you haven’t seen those yet, you can see them HERE and let me tell ya, they sure are pretty and you may or may not see two super adorable french bulldogs!

I love the Pacific Northwest so much and I cant wait to get back!  See ya in November you beautiful place you!
